BBC Radio Derby’s fifth annual Derbyshire Day

BBC Radio Derby’s fifth annual Derbyshire Day celebration takes place on Sunday 25 September between 11:00 -16:00.
This year it marks a pair of 40th anniversaries – the launch of the radio
station and the opening to the public of Sudbury Hall (this year’s venue).
The outdoor event is free to attend, but there is an admission cost for the
National Trust’s Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood if you wish to tour them
as part of your visit.
Derbyshire Day has become an opportunity for the people of the county to come
together and celebrate their surroundings and heritage.
On offer at the event will be local food, entertainment and crafts. It’s also
a chance to enjoy the history, wildlife, and countryside on offer at the country
home of the Lords Vernon.
Guided bird walks will be on offer around the area to discover more about the
hall’s surroundings. It’s a family event, but no pets will be allowed except
assistance dogs.
There will be designated disabled parking in the hall’s main car park and at
the front of the house, with transfer available as well as a drop-off point.
